I really cannot begin to understand the popularity of ed sheeran

I actually thought I was the only one who didn't like him!

Music is a matter of taste....but...that truly is shit!

No no. It's just way beyond your intelligence.

That is a fucking mugging of my eardrums, it is truly appalling.

Ed Sheeran is Fucking awful. He just reminds me of The Plain White Tees, one shitty song to please the Radio 1 listening mongs and 'R & B' tests (like some of my friends) who now think they know something about guitar music all of a sudden.
Listening to a lot of Everything Everything, Mona and Miles Jane but I can't be bothered to put a YouTube clip of any songs because I'm too lazy.

Every now and then they come along, the Radio 1 golden boys.they push em and push em,they are the current flavour for a while then everybody realises they aren't really that good-Jack Johnson,Newton Faulkner,Paolo N'FuckingTini.....etc etc.Soon be available for 50p at a boot fair near you.

I was agreeing with you until you put Newton Faulkner into that bracket, shame on you. He's awesome.

Listened to two albums at work last night. 'Skying' by The Horrors & 'Go Tell Fire To The Mountain' by WU LYF. Two very good albums!

I met Newton down in a Bude music shop a few years ago, nice guy. Having said that I've only heard one of his songs, so he could well be included in the singers that 'Jo Whiley bangs on and on about being the next greatest thing'. Which for a certain period was everyone who was releasing music.

Is Jo Whiley still alive?

I saw him (Newton Faulkner) live a couple of years ago in Cheltenham, was superb.
His first album was great, his 2nd album, although very good, was not as good as his first.

I don't know if Jo Whiley is still alive or not, but she is one of the most irritating "music personalities" around.

Having seen Whiley at a gig recently, I can confirm she is indeed alive and more controversially, fit.  Not a commonly held opinion but anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

Whiley is infact 104 years old but stays alive by feeding off the souls of fresh young bands

I saw Black Dahlia on Friday after Megadeth. It was most brutal indeed.

Glasvegas - outstanding
Vaccines - Good
Lykke Li - Brilliant...(thanks Bogud Dave)

if anyone has any other reccomendations along these lines I would like to hear about them
particualry gk_nash and Bogus Dave since we seem to be pretty much on the same lines...
