Would really recommend Kasabians new album if you haven't heard it yet.

Ha, how ironic, not Kasabian but I was digging through YouTube because I couldn't get the lyrics from Galaxy by War from my head today and ended up digging out loads of old jazz funk hits from my days strutting my stuff in Bojangles all those years ago. Sadly what I used to do all night now takes me all night to get started.

All the instruments (and the bloke screaming) seem to be competing against eachother, which just makes a wall of sound aka a bloody racket! :-)

I like the Wiki analysis of the vocalist's musical style, especially the inverted commas:

Quote
Vocally Carter is seen as having a coarse and "tortured"[89][104] screaming style and implements melodic singing to counter this.[92] Since Carter's addition to the band's lineup the band always aimed to use more of his singing as their style developed, regardless of reaction from fans.[14] During the writing of The Here and Now in California, Carter got vocal coaching to help develop his singing voice.[29] During these lessons Carter learned a lot about techniques, warm-ups and singing to scales.[29] Carter's harsh vocals have also been compared to British metalcore contemporary Oliver Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon and his "raspy-yelling" vocals.[105]

"Tortured, raspy yelling"...sounds like the sort of thing you'd hear in The Arkells on a Saturday afternoon...
