Fee aside, none of this sounds good. Amateurish, one could say...

I was thinking a large non-domesticated land mammal.

Or because his shirt number is unavailable, either way... Begone!

The board must've known Charlie would be leaving for best part of 6 weeks, and knew the type of fee he'd command, so why the fuck do they not have a replacement lined up to sign a contract? Better still would've been to sign someone before the last few days (i know they run the club as a business but they could afford it..) so to avoid the last minute scramble.

Why risk permanent signings when things are a bit shit when you can get a few loans in and think again in the summer?

They also reported that no new striker will be bought in before the weekend and the club were still working on replacements but are up against stiff competion on the calibre of striker they want.  Should Pericard not recover from injury this will leave Dossevi as the only fit striker should Charlie Austin complete his move today.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Same old Swindon, leave it until the last minute then run out of time.

Flint was being watched by plenty....he cost us £150,000....big gamble but may be a star.

But i kinda get your point.

Craig Mckail-Smith cost Peterborough 150k from non-league. He's now valued at 2-2.5 million.

I know the loan window stays open beyond the normal window in the summer, does it do likewise this month?

Loan window closes with the transfer window but re-opens 2 weeks later. Stays open until near the end of March.

half expect the ghost of sid James to pop up at any minute.  carry on Austin.

still we must be in limbo a bit until we know we have the Austin money.

Never seen Austin play but to make a profit of nearly 2 million in little over a year is pretty good.  Also seems like he wants out so the sooner he goes the better I think.  So long as we get adequate replacements in!

We've got 2 games a week for the whole of feb so waiting for loan players doesnt work for me, especially as we have not a single forward who can score goals at the club
