I cant see the up front fee being much more than £1mill but with add ons taking it over £1.5mill in all honesty.

i agree with you with regards to upfront.i think add ons might push it nearer 2 mill though.that's more hopeful than thinking it will happen though

A lot of the add ons will be dependant on Charlie being a success though so it's a gamble when jumping 2 levels.  Look at Cox, who IMO is a better player.

I  really don't see what the problem is with lower bids. If someone bids less than your valuation you turn it down. Then they either up the bid or go away. Either way we win, either by getting the right money or keeping the player.

Trouble is that this just drags it out and leaves us less time to bring a replacement in..

other trouble is-it unsettles the player and apparently makes him become crap!

As long as the low bid is a starting point I reckon the fee will be around £1m up front £1m in installments and then add ons and a sell on clause - I was told down the pub last night so it must be true
