Is there any way I can set up a remote desktop connection that will automatically connect (i.e. no prompt to accept the connection on the remote PC)?

It's nothing dodgy, I'm just planning on putting a slipstreamed version of XP as the OS on my NAS and want to be able to remote into it rather than have to hook it up to a monitor etc. everytime I want to change something.

If you mean no prompt on the desktop of the machine being remoted into, isn't that just how remote desktop works OOTB in XP? Certainly all my work PCs are set up that way - Control Panel->System->Remote->Remote Desktop->Allow users to remotely connect, then just grant permissions to the relevant user accounts. If you mean can you remote in without being prompted for credentials when you remote in (ie on the RDP client) then no (or at least I don't know how to using RDC, although VNC can be set passwordless, IIRC)

LogMeIn will allow you to connect to a machine without asking for any sort of verification IIRC

Logmein requires remote pc user to "ok" the session?

I've never seen that. There is an option to bypass the credentials bit though.

Cheers all. Just trying out a load of slipstreamed XP installs in VMWare at the moment. Once I get one that actually works I'll try out some of these suggestions.
