I think you missed the point. The “I have a theory about the reason Jordan married a cage fighter – she needed a man strong enough to stop Harvey from f**king her.” 'joke' just wasn't fucking funny. There was no whit or humour about it. It was just dumb and crass. It's got nothing to do with being offended. If some drunk half-whit down the pub came out with that, I would just think, "What a prick". |

But the point is, many people did find the Jordan/Harvey "joke" funny. Should it be on television? Should it be restricted to his own tours? I don't know. It was late night television, there were warnings pre-broadcast and it is Frankie Boyle.
axs right but I think it's relevant within the 'shock' comedy debate. Nobody does it better than Chris Morris.
In a way Four Lions was his Blackadder Goes Forth because it tackled a difficult subject and pulled it off. However, Morris doesn't wait 60 years to tackle such difficult subjects.

See that's the difference isn't it. Some people will find that funny mainly because it's not directed at anyone in person. I quite like frankie Boyle and hate everything Jordan stands for BUT he over stepped the mark on this one and got very personal. |

Just watched his new dvd and I found about half of it to be really unfunny and half of it the opposite. He does explain at one point in the show that he makes everything so ridiculous that you know he doesn't actually mean it.
However, found the Jordan/cage fighter joke to be shit, the Jade Goodie one to be shit but the Jordan/Peter Andre joke and the joke about the Beckhams to be funny. The standard John Leslie and Barrymore jokes were equally amusing. If you can't take the piss out of one person then you can't out of anyone really.
Looking at some of the extra stuff on the dvd, it's evident he does get some satisfaction from a bad crowd reaction though.
