Sturrock will seek details over the amount of money available for squad strengthening and was last night closing in on a deal for Derby winger Lee Holmes - as exclusively revealed by the Daily Press back in June - after talks with the former County Ground loanee yesterday. Sturrock is also casting his eye over another two foreign trialists, who have been recommended to the club by Brevett.

There will also be another two foreign trialists at the club

Not sure if the old WDP felt it was that good news they printed it twice or it's actually another four trialists.

I think Sturrock will do well to not be influenced by people pushing players on him. If the odd gem comes along then it could work out quite well, but the signs in this respect don't look terribly great.

I don't think it's a bad thing getting players pushed on you if Sturrock gets choice over whether he wants them or not. Otherwise it could be a little shit.

Sturrock has a good scouting network - he strikes me as the kind of guy that's happy to take a look at players - I don't think he'd sign them or allow them to be signed if he didn't want them.
