I did play wrag barn the other day fo £20 with soup, good deal to play a nice course. I have been play at blunson house hotel they have a liltle 9 hole, just right for my short game, course always tidy but greens arnt always the best. Others?

broome is great as a council owned course.woodbridge park(brinkworth)is cheap and cheerfull and does deals for different times of the week.
basset downs is alright for a 9hole but a bit pricey for what it is.better value range there compared to broome though

Yeah I go down the Bassett range every now and then. Pretty decent. Wrag Barn is probably a bit better than Highworth Rec.

The Wiltshire's not bad but the greens are better at Wrag Barn - I'm a bit biased as I'm a member there.  Ogbourne is a bit of a challenge if there's any wind about.  If you don't mind travelling a bit, Kingsdown near Bath is really enjoyable.

I've only played Basset and Lark Hill that are close-ish. Unless you count melksham and upavon. The best is Upavon  Smiley

South Cerny is nice with a linksy feel to it although good players would want more sand and water..its a young course but good value at £20...........Broome is a great course but tough.
Got to say Wrag Barn is my favourite  course...........the 18th makes you feel great if you hit a good shot to it and everyone watching.
Castle Coombe nr Chippenham is a great course but pricey and i like Marlbrough better than Ogbourne which is the first course i ever saw mountain goats as caddys!
The best 9 hole course in Swindon is Highworth...9 tough holes.

Used to be a member at Deanwood Park golf club  Near Newbury. Nice little 9 hole course short, but you need to be acurate off the tee.

I'm really shit at golf and I like Faringdon because it's not poncy in the slightest and nobody seems to mind that I'm hopeless at the 'sport' and take ages to go round and always put about 6 balls in the lake.

Its probably a crap course though?
