Hang in a sec.

Before making such a sarky, unneeded comment. Did you stop to think for one sec that shopping him might be for his own good? Giving him a shock now might put him on the straight and narrow before it is too late.

Nasty moral dilemma or simplistic narrow minded view?

And I think that although Fred was expecting different opinions, he was certainly not expecting stabbing remarks.

Think you have me a bit wrong on that one

I genuinely don't know what happened there.

I somehow got you mixed up with a discussion on another forum entirely, freaky.

Sorry about that.

No worries, I was just trying for a balanced point of view. Having met Fred, he's a really nice guy and I wouldn't want to be upsetting him

Burgling houses is not the act of a first time offender. Surely it starts off with nicking from shops, cars, garden sheds etc. This is no way this kids first crime.

I think he could do with a scare whilst he is still at a young age. Hopefully it will stop the little fucker doing it again. Also if you were to let him off it, he might laugh behind your back and realise where he went wrong by getting caught and change his tactics.

Being charged by the police when you are 16 is surely better than being charged by the police when you are 21+.

Bleedin 'Eck. I've already apologised haven't I.

And yeah, I did get tied up with another thread on another forum, call it a Fruedian slip if you will. When I checked back again it was a different post to how I initially perceived it.

Stranger things have happened at sea.

Putting aside the claim from his parents that the lad in question hasn't done this before, the little cunt broke in to Freds house, presumably in the middle of the night, when he and his daughter were asleep.

That action alone means he needs a big fucking wake up call. By the sound of things, he was fucking lucky the occupants were asleep and that the family dog is a lazy fucker.

Kids learn right from wrong primarily from their parents. In this case, either the kid didnt listen and learn, or the parents failed to teach him. Either way, the twat deserves whats comming to him, lawfully or otherwise.

Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure in their own fucking house. No one grants that right, it's just a given.

Someone violates your space, let alone breaks into house he/she pays the fucking price.

If he/she didnt realise the possible consequences when they chose to bump the lock and walk through the door, tough fucking shit.

This is a real good post, he needs to be punished you eaither tell the police you want to see it thro the court, or you stalk him for 10 or so years wait till he has his own house with his daughter asleep upstairs and you break in and return the favor see how he likes it. eaither way you have to do something about him he could do it next week and hurt someone.

I'm sorry, but there is no moral dilemma here at all. The lad has committed a deliberate and willful illegal act of breaking into someone's (who happens to be Fred) house which contravenes the law of the land. If he were to be 'let off' not facing up to the consequences of his actions, what is the point of having laws in the first place?

Regardless of what his parents have done (which is very honourable), he needs to face appropriate punishment. Whether ultimately the law delivers appropriate punishment is a whole different issue.

Fred - I hope everything works out, and time will hopefully heal the fears that you and, more importantly, Jenna have at the moment. As I said earlier, if there is anything you need, you know where I am and please don't hesitate to ask.

In addition, some good lessons here regarding physical security, protecting data etc. Sorry that Fred was the victim to help raise its profile.

I think if I was in the house on my own I might be leaning towards the parental thing but as your daughter was in the house I would shoot his bollocks off, although best see what the courts do first.

You could always "find" a knife in your house, say on the floor, he'd be up for aggravated burglary then whilst under occupation which is big stuff.
