TOWN have pulled the plug on a deal to sign free agent Alan Gow following excessive demands from the Scot, the Swindon Advertiser can exclusively reveal.
The 27-year-old agreed personal terms yesterday before being shown around the County Ground, and passed a medical at the club this morning.
But the Advertiser understands Gow demanded this afternoon what sources describe as a "considerable increase" on his already-agreed basic wage.
And so furious Town chiefs have backtracked on the deal, insisting they only want to sign players who have a desire to play for the club.

For sure. St. Mirren, Sheffield Wednesday, Hibs are all interested, Sheffield Wednesday are top of the league so dare say they will sign him now. Clearly he used us for bigger wedge at another club. Seems a bit odd travelling down here for all that. Glad that AF and DW have basically said get fucked. |
