I've got a Epson all in one jobby. If you get one with separate cartridges (mine takes six) you can replace them dirt cheap from superinks.co.uk

I've had three - Lexmark was shit, Epsom was better but the ink was a rip-off and only lasted a week at a time.

We've now got a Brother MFC-5890CN and it's really good. The ink last for ages and the scanner and fax seem fine. The only thing I don't like is the paper load.

Not sure if this is true of the MP640, but we have a canon and the ink expensive (even compatibles) due to the printer head being integral to the ink cartridge.

Canon usually get good ratings. Should my R300 pop off then I will switch allegiance

I get my ink from this lot (who just happen to be based in Highworth). I haven't found any cheaper.

If its just for general printing I bought a Dell 1320c Laser printer - bloody thing is brilliant !

Not really for photo's - but for everything else it really is good - speed of printing is so much better than an inkjet....

I bought mine from Ebay for £50....

Yeah, saw that. Seems Kodak are going down the dirt cheap ink route. May have to investigate as I never find compatibles as good as originals and if Kodak originals are cheap it will be a winner!
