Just saw this in a paper, and considering Ward is supposed to be joining Lids,but hasn't done so, this could be the reason :
Lids chairman Ken Bates has hit out at Premier League players and thei agents, accusing them of holding Championship clubs to ransom and claiming they are 'totally out of touch' with financial reality. Bates revealed how a proposed deal for an unnamed Premier League prospect would have cost Leeds close to £1m in wages over the season.
Bates said 'There is the young player who has never played in the first team of his Premier League club and was out on loan last season, earning £5k a week. His young agent demanded no less than £14k a week, which would've cost the club about £850k per annum. Some players and their agents are totally out of touch with reality.'

I don't know and would not care to guess. But I do think we are paying out a fair old wack to most of our first team players for our level. |

Bates......the tax exile who lives in Monaco,no problem with that except when he calls others greedy.
Dont think the player he was on about was Ward,if it was he must feel sick seeing as they let him go for free a few years back!

I dont think Ward really wants to go out on loan, thats why his agent is probably asking for so much?
As for Bates, he's right. But Im really crying in my cornflakes this morning reading this story. I feel so sorry for the sixnils.

Obviously all whispers but: Our wage cap is 5k a week, we offered paynter 6k but leeds offered him 8k. Dougie Lucas and Greer were top earners, and heard Austin may be on about 2800. |

Those figures sound pretty feasible to me. I guess if Charlie continues to bang them in, he will get bumped up with the top earners. |
