That uses a security flaw in PDF handling which was fixed in iOS 4.0.2, so if you've upgraded to this version it won't work.

jailbreakme.com will work fine then. Your warranty shouldn't be affected because you can revert back to standard firmware and Apple will be none the wiser. Make sure you back up your SHSH blobs in Cydia once jailbroken (Google it).
