the worlds gone mad!

But seriously, can you still call it a whiteboard?

I imagine you can call it what you fucking like, I imagine they don't call then blackboards anymore as schools don't have blackboards anymore...

Although at parents evening our lasses teacher was discussing expelling kids and laughing that they have to say 'permanently excluding' these days which is the same thing...

That's pretty much my primary school days too!
We used to call the slipper, the dap though.

The only technology we had was a BBC micro model B computer which was in the stock room, where the whole class were led down once to gaze at(but not touch)in awe and wonder at the white hot future!

It used to be the case, not sure if still is, that the name for the humble sports shoe was a signifier of regional Britain.

So daps in Wales and the west, pumps in London and the north. Gutties in Norn Iron and Central Scotland. Sannies in the rest of Scotland.

Posh types probably call them plimsolls.

The BBC was a pretty sexy creature, definitely an upgrade from the Spectrum ZX

Yep, his comments are just laughable...if he genuinely meant them, if he didn't then hes a whinging jock twat.

I also like the new (old) Irn Bru advert.

It's difficult to be too interested in the forthcoming WC, what with FIFA corruption, incessant international breaks and terrible games. Throw in Putin's state sponsored hooligans and dopers and it's not a promising mix, however I suppose old habits die hard.

Therefore good to see Argentina qualify, as a bit like Brazil, you can't really have a WC without them and even better to see the US not qualify, although I suppose an anti Trump anthem protest might have been fun.  David Cameron will no doubt be glad to see Panama get in.

Feel sorry for Chile mind.

As long as Colombia beat Peru, Chile would take the play off space. 15 minutes to go and Peru have a INDIRECT free kick. Neither team seemed to be sure of the rules so Peru took a shot on goal. Colombia's keeper (Ospina) dives and gets a finger to the ball but not enough to stop it going into the net.
Had Ospina not touched the ball the goal would not have stood.

I have an ambivalent feeling for Chile... I like the way their players belt out the national anthem... Ivan Zamorano being the daddy.

However I used to go to the evenings in the Star Club in Bridge Street, to help support the refugees from Thatcher's bessie Pinochet's regime, who survived the Santiago Stadium.
Further their players do seem to overdo the tats for my taste, and would like to see Peru make it, for no other reason than I like their shirt and Teofilio Cubillas putting the Sweaties in their place.

When anyone mentions Peru, that’s the first thing I think of, and it does make me smile

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but some of the defending for the first couple Argentina goals were dubious to say the least
