That someone in the steak restaurant tonight knew the Heimlich manoeuvre whilst I was choking on a piece of steak. It was odd choking whilst not being able to let people know what the problem was!

We flirted, Palace de Boer style, briefly with Dutchmen... AvdL, Nijholt, and Bart Griemink, but I think we're now all happier with a bunch of norvern cloggers. I'm not sure why the Dutch wore clogs, norverners wore clogs

As there is no cricket thread, would just like to record my appreciation for Kumar Sangakarra's final season here.
Retiring from all forms of cricket this month (one month short of his 40th birthday) he averages 120 odd in the County championship with 8 centuries and 3 50s in 13 innings, recording centuries against every county he has played.
Dominating, comfortable and controlled but rarely violent. You are an absolute fucking genius and a joy to watch.

There are a few cricket threads in the Sports forum, but not (regrettably) a County Champ one, although it might just be me talking to Reg so perhaps it's for the best. Yes, Kumar is ridiculously good still despite his advancing years. I wish he wasn't currently dominating Somerset though, even a great should be allowed a week off...

Sorry I'm still in the dark... Cheers OST. I did a first aid course a couple of years back, and did the choking thing.... missed it's name, which may have been to do with being paired with a fit young thing for the practical bits. I had hoped for a go at the resus, but got a rubber doll

I had hoped that Kumar may have had business in Sri Lanka to attend to, rather than perhaps relegating the Cidermen. However, it's perhaps a mark of his greatness that I don't mind. The game is always above mere partisanship.
