I knew it
There was a BBC doc a while back where they made men and women wear those line-of-sight-tracking glasses, and the women were much worse than the men, almost always at looking at arses and crotches. They're fucking obsessed.

Booked a few days in Sweden over half term. Norwegian Airways I love you, even if your country isn't quite as good as you neighbours. £305 return, two adults and two children. 3 checked bags.

Coco pops after several pints of 6x, go me . I already know I'm gonna feel shit tomorrow, but I have fence panels to erect, so at least I'll get some fresh air

Boooring....you do know that your kids will come to hate you, for going to an interesting northern European country during the school hols, rather than the zeitgeisty incurring of a fine for going to some hell hole in term time?

Where in Sweden?
South. Stockholm, then relatives somewhere near Malmköping, and I think possibly Stigtomta (last went there aged 7).

If it helps, we come back the day after Swindon starts the new term. The kids school is shut though. I'll book something in term time for summer, just to compensate. Not sure I'd have gone in February myself, but the rest of the family wanted a chance of snow and skiing on the baby slope where the relatives live.

Stockholm is great. Make sure you have a good walk around Gamla Stam, visit the Vasa museum and buy a Stockholm pass for the duration as you get cheap travel on all public transport and free/reduced entry to some attractions.
The winter has been incredibly mild in Norway but the snow has arrived big time and Feb is usually the coldest time of year.
There's a Town fan on Twitter who lives in Stockholm, look him up!

Wife's brother and his wife (she's Swedish) live in Linköping. Love the area. And I'd love it even more if everything wasn't so damned expensive. At least you got a good deal on your flights.

Seconded. Me and dporter went for a long weekend in December and had a great time. Definitely have a wander round the old town on Gamla Stan, and would also reccomend going to the Skansen open air museum which is right next to the Vasa museum. Lot of examples of olden times sweden and a cracking zoo which the kiddies should enjoy.

Sweden, beautiful country for a quick visit, boring as fuck to live there. I still rage over their System Bolaget alcohol shops. They close at 3pm on a Saturday, making it impossible to buy booze unless you spend half your months wages in one of their pubs. It cost me £50 for 2 whiskey sand 2 vodka cokes! Batch, spot the Swedes pulling out bags and bags of booze from the overhead lockers on the plane when you land. It's hilarious but also quite sad.

Will do. Might join them. We are staying in a hotel that has a pub attached (a blood British themed one ). Over £5 a pint, and that's because the exchange rate is reasonable right now!
