When he sneakily stuck the V's up behind his back to the Town End
I am sure he was getting plenty back! Seem to recall in his old age getting the "Ian Shite, Shite, Shite" from the Town End.

Could have been worse, it could have been asking about the 710 cap Smiley

true story, a colleagues sister, who must be 40-50, complained to him drivers are always flushing their lights at her at night.

"do you put them on dipped beam"

"what's dipped beam?"

 I kid you not

Thing is, she's always had a man in her life to do these things for her. For years our dad would do everything for her, take her cars for MOT's, do her Tax renewals, insurance everything. Something broke, car or otherwise, it was on the phone to dad and he's sort it, like a good dad would. Then later on she had a partner for 10 years who did the same, now she has neither, she has no idea how to do these things.

Of course i'll help her but rather than do it for her, i'll go with her and show her how to do it which is how it should have been done in the first place.

Mrs batch takes on more DIY than I do.

I know my limitations, it's awkward when I have to say 'are you sure you can do that' to her.

I've just watched a commercial on Channel 5 with Ian Wright.  In it he says he scored a goal against Swindon in 1993.

As observed elsewhere on this forum, Arsenal were just on a completely different level in that match (as were many of STFC's opponents that season).
