TBH I have not shared a drink with him ...yet... he shared an appartment with another mate of mine for a year or more in Bristol, Mark Olver, a couple of very funny west country lads.

Nemo knows Mark from his comedy shows he dabbled in a while back.

Suspected gas leak in the building meaning we had to evacuate and relocate to a bar for a couple of hours. Nice way to break up a boring Monday.

There are more "famous" people coming with us this weekend to my old mate the Wiltshire comedian Wil Hodgsons stag weekend down in Torbay.

There is Wil, Phill Jupitus, Gary Delaney, John Robins, Martin Mor, Russell Howard (flying down for the Sunday evening) and Marcus Brigstocke.

Should be a laugh as long as I am well enough to enjoy it.

I hope you have a great time, however if you could just punch Russell Howard for me that would be much appreciated, ta.

His on screen persona is pretty annoying but off screen hes alright, bought me a beer before so I like him, I will however punch him just for being a Liverpool fan.

Lets be fair though, they did spend a massive chunk of that in the top flight.

There is also at least an FA Cup win in there.

But it goes back to various drunken conversations I have had with fans of certain middling Premier League teams over the years, at least we start every season with something to play for, is that really worst than essentially knowing that you can never win anything and the only objective you have is to avoid being relegated each year, I know which I would prefer?

Someone tried to spit on me at work today, except it didn't get enough trajectory and it basically landed on his own shoes. I felt a bit crap but then I opened a letter from someone (not the same guy..) who said that I had helped him become a better person, which made it all worthwhile Smiley

I had this conversation with a Villa fan last season when they flirted with relegation. He actually wanted them to go down in a way; they'd have stood a chance of winning the league, coming back stronger, a few new grounds etc. as you say, far more excitement than finishing 17th year in year out.

I think he's changed his mind now though. There's getting relegated and there's getting relegated!
