I like pretty much anything he releases and it's definitely a good listen. Very much his reinterpretation than covers.

I saw him at Clapham Calling earlier this year. He was good despite the sound not being anywhere near loud enough. His last album was excellent I thought.

Robert Lewnadowski came on a sub for B. Munich after 4 months on the sidelines. Scored 5 goals in 9 minutes. The 5th was a peach too.

have to say part of me smiles at the pure cheek of the VW smoggate scandal. Not the seriousness of the pollution mind.
Its going to be interesting to see how they (the Authorities/VW) deal with this. Its not totally clear what the implications are at the moment - if they recall can they actually fix the problem without reducing the cars performance. Will they be allowed to not recall and just take a massive fine. Hmmm...

I suspect in the long run that this will not just be VW. I had an interesting conversation with a mechanic yesterday; when testing the products of a major non-German manufacturer, he has noticed that the engine cannot be revved above about 2,600 rpm. He has spoken to the manufacturer about it, they told him that it is to prevent over-speeding of the engine under "no-load" conditions, which might cause damage. Sounds reasonable, but I suspect that there's more to it!

Of course they can't, not without changing out things like EGRs, turbos and catalytic converters for much more expensive components. The whole point of the software 'cheat' was to avoid huge engineering costs in the first place. From what I've read, it's only likely to have a real impact on the US market because their emissions tests are a lot more stringent than European ones. Although that's not to say that haven't used the same trickery on Euro models. The bare-faced cheek of it is quite clever really.

The Government are probably rubbing their hands together here. As Company Car tax is based on CO2 emissions, they will have a justifiable claim to monetary compensation, based not just on environmental issues but actual lost revenue. And if it really is widespread practice across the industry, there will be more claims to come I'm sure.
