I've been trying to search for somewhere to spend my lunch hour which isn't overcrowded, noisy and has a bit of grass. Not easy in London Bridge but I found somewhere eventually.

I also discovered this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross_Bones

It's easy to forget how much history is around you when you're skulking to work head down. I walked past that memorial gate twice a day, sometimes more, for a week before I noticed it.

And the best perk of my new job is being provided with beers on Friday.

It amazes me the number of people who just assume that their tax code is correct and don't bother filling out a tax return.  HMRC don't have a clue half the time about tax codes.  It's a 'finger in the air', nothing more.

I like to think that I keep on top of these things, but even so, I forgot to be claiming relief for my professional subscriptions for the last three years. It was only a refund of £80 or so, but it's better than nothing!

Getting tickets for three games in the Euro 2016 lottery. Just hope it doesn't turn out to include Serbia vs Bosnia-Herzegovina...

Went on a stag do up to the kart centre at wroughton airfield earlier, haven't been in a kart for something approaching 15 years, and jesus did it show. Split into 7 teams of 4 drivers for an hour endurance, I said I'd take the start as no other driver fancied it... I was 6th when I pitted, 2 laps down on the (VERY quick) leader. the other guys in my team were on fire, taking 1st place in the last 3 minutes. We got a little trophy for our efforts, made me smile. 30.9 was my fastest lap, quickest lap of the night was 28.6  Eek

After recently posting this in t'other thread:

I wasn't sure if this belonged in this thread, or the "make you feel good" one, but decided this was probably best.

We sold the wife's Clio over the weekend because we need something bigger to fit the kids/dog/bikes in and for longer trips/tip runs etc. I now find myself drawn to either a Citroen Picasso or a Volvo V40. I am definitely old before my time.

I avoided the early onset of old age and have purchased an Impreza Wagon Cool

William Hill advertising the possibility of winning £50m.

All you have to do is predict the exact finishing positions of the PL clubs!

Piece of piss, that.

The odds are astronomical, although I suppose you could assume they are reduced a little because certain teams could be ruled out from positions - like Chelsea won't finish bottom and Watford won't win the league, so that reduced the variables a tad.
