XTC's 'Senses working overtime' being played on Radio 2 this morning. I forget how much of a tune it is, Sonic's long-term suggestion of it replacing our current stolen goal song really needs to be picked up and pushed hard towards the club!
Agreed. We need to make our club our own, rather than some second-rate imitation of someone else. Can see the crowd all chanting "1,2,3,4,5
". Put it to the Trust, or put a poll on here first if you want to demonstrate support. |

I was walking through London yesterday when an advert on the side of a bus caught my eye in the distance. It said 'Visit wonderful Wigan' which I thought was odd.
It was only when I got closer, that I had made a grave mistake, and it said 'Visit Wonderful Vigan', which apparently is in the Philippines.
How I chuckled to myself at my error.

Many years ago, on a work thing up north, I had to go to Parbold, which is in what I'd call Lancashire...so I took the opportunity, to do a bit of George Orwell homage, and went to Wigan Pier. No one actually can agree what the 'pier' was or where it was (i have sat in loads of meetings whilst Wigan Council and others have argued about this!), whilst the pub is dreadful (not even sure if it is still open). When I worked at BW in Wigan (who own the site) a load of us went there for lunch, following that afternoon the pub company got a letter from our Estate Manager that afternoon threatening to terminate the lease if they didn't clean it up - it was horrible! |

On passing the big brown sign for 'Wigan Pier' I said something like 'Ah, the Road to Wigan Pier' without really giving it much thought, to which the ex then looked over with a puzzled look - like I'm some kind of ####ing moron - and said ' Er, yes. It is.' She had never read any Orwell. I think we split up soon after. |
