It's great to see the Football Combination league tables added.  I used to go regularly in the 60s and occasionally in the 70s.  Now, if only I'd kept the teamsheets !   Doh

I always went in the 70s and 80s, 10p to get in as a kid and 2p for a teamsheet from the turnstyle.

I was still going to a fair number of Stiffs games in the mid 00's, when it was ditched. The collection of oddballs, agents, wags and scouts etc, in the Arkells, an entertainment in itself  Smiley

In all seriousness my great uncle used to go to a few ressie games back then. Think he sometimes enjoyed them more than watching the first team.

If you'd gone 5 or so years ago you'd also have seen Michael Timlin score a deft chip into the top corner from about 35 yards, incredible goal!!!

I probably last went around 2007, the old Football Combination had been stripped for some years by then of its traditional Div1/Prem clubs, but then they started messing around with regional leagues, which left us with a handful of clubs to play...seem to remember the likes of Forest Green being in there.

To make matters worse it used to be free, then they started wanting to charge again...

I went to quite a few U21 games when I was up in Newcastle. They were always good fun and great value for money. Always full of old boys and dads taking their kids because they can't afford to see the first team. Of course the kids didn't give a damn because they're watching Newcastle United. The crowds varied between higher level Non-League gates to Football League.

I also occasionally walk to Ashton Gate for the occasional U21 game which has sort of crowd Reg very accurately describes.

I think I saw that! Used to love watching the ressies, remember watching Lukas Jutkiewicz at 15 / 16 and being pretty amazed at how much of a unit he was. Think we played Plymouths reserves, they had a load of first teamers out and Jukebox made them look silly and bagged a brace.
