I was at St Etienne in 98 scot 0 Morocco 3' shit game, Great experience. The scots drank the place dry and according to the local media 0 arrests.

I don't think other than 1990 Ireland and Scotland have ever been in same World Cup, could be wrong as a bit pissed.

I'm probably wrong. But the Scots were definitely involved.

The Division Four table looks pretty good to me with quarter of the season gone. Appleton is a genius.

Drinking an ice cold kingfisher, watching the sun go down close to Candolim beach in Goa. Doesn't get much better, that said the red snapper tandoori we had last night was immense.

I might not come home!

"Only"! Doing two half marathons is a pretty decent achievement in itself IMO, well done Batch.

Finding an unbelievable alternative to Adobe Illustrator. Affinity Designer is amazing and at £34.99 it's a steal. Adobe free computing is nearly mine, mwhaha.

I swore I'd never do another one after my first last month.

I was plotting a better training regime by the following day.  Pathetic.

Not signed up yet but will almost certainly do another one.

Which one? Was thinking of doing Reading myself.

1 hour, 47 minutes, 26 seconds (chip time). Considering I did the "easier" (flatter) Chippenham Half in 1:52:02 I was delighted, a real 41st birthday present to myself!

Then 3 hours later I was plotting the sub 1hr 45 barrier Smiley Might give the Wiltshire half a go at the end of November actually, not sure sub 1hr 45 is on for that though.

Anywho, you should be able to see my splits here.

Particularly please with miles 12 and 13 (into and up Marlborough Road)! No idea why I ran better than Chip - it was cooler and I took a couple of gel packs at 8 and 10 miles (finally found some that didn't give me stitch - SIS ones).

Not signed up yet but will almost certainly do another one.

Glad to hear it. The difference between how I felt at the end of yesterday and the end of Chippenham was like chalk and cheese. I think Chippenham was a tough day to do it, I just didn't realise at the time.

Sorry! I used to struggle doing 3 miles not so long ago. Forget how much I've progressed since those days. Losing over 3 1/2 stone helped. But I'm quite sure if I can do 13 miles then anyone can.

Paris, bien sūr. Know what you mean about saying never again. Yet here I am, again.

I can only dream of the sort of times you're running.

Paris?! That sounds amazing. Much as Swindon would have been quite scenic I'd it weren't for the fog, I recon Paris may just top it!

Contemplating one and one only full marathon. Two problems  -
  1. Finding time to train,
  2. 26 miles is a bloody long way.

Serial marathoners like onemoredave are the remarkable ones!

Which reminds me, I met mad Ruth half way round the course Sunday. So called because of her 80 mile plus ultra runs!

I guess the point is in happy with my speed, but I'm only racing my own times/pushing myself - there is always someone that can go faster and further!

Well done Batch!

If you're looking for a decent course, I'd recommend Reading and Cheltenham. Both pretty flat with minor hills, but enough to keep your mind engaged as decent support all the way around.

Come and join us then. It's a great day out, with about 33k participants. And we Brits retire to the pub for a restorative fry-up after the race.
