Eldest kid is in Year 6, we're picking his school choices for next year. Abbey Park is the nearest, but ofsted reports are fuuuuuucking terrible, likewise speaking to people who's kids go there. Nova Hreod or Great Western Academy are the other two realistic choices, obviously due to 'one thing and another', they can't offer proper open evenings, so we're stuck with the virtual open evenings and tours of the schools.

Finding the same issues for my eldest, although to start primary school next year. She goes to pre-school at the one my wife works at, but we're out of catchment so no idea what are odds are of her getting in there. Most at least are offering school tours after hours at least.

Still having the longest, continuous thunderstorm I’ve ever seen. Constant lightning, occasional massive thunderclaps and short spurts of Noah-like rain. I’m amazed the leccy is still on.

Poor old Billy the greyhound is trembling in the cupboard under the stairs.

Amazing thing, weather.

Currently getting some strong NW'erlies, and plenty of cloud amongst the sun, so possibly end up with the tail end of what you are currently having on the other side of Greece. Mind, it will have a whole country (land mass) to soak up first before it comes here. It will come though, eventually. Still warm though.

I will get round to it. I'm away at the mo and surprisingly busy. Last night was the first time I had a proper chance to comment on the TEF for a while (I'm sure some were absolutely enthralled). I will get to though. I'm kind of excited for these extra 10 episodes too Smiley

Not Neighbour's, but randomly caught some Home and Away on TV a few weeks ago and was amazed to see some cast members still there from 20+ years ago. Alf Stewart and Irene for starters

Missus picked a fight with a pot hole this morning and lost.

Anyone got any experience claiming from councils?

They often claim they do not know anything about it, it is worth going back and seeing if they have marked it in any way (spraypaint etc) to prove otherwise
