Cheesy you must feel very badly let down then, not surprised you're peed off

Though to be honest, if you're a rap fan that's disappointed at the use of guns and abuse of women, I'm not sure you're looking in the right place for role models.

Anyone looking at musicians or celebs of any flavour for role models probably needs to have a bit of a reassessment.

Eldest kid is in Year 6, we're picking his school choices for next year. Abbey Park is the nearest, but ofsted reports are fuuuuuucking terrible, likewise speaking to people who's kids go there. Nova Hreod or Great Western Academy are the other two realistic choices, obviously due to 'one thing and another', they can't offer proper open evenings, so we're stuck with the virtual open evenings and tours of the schools.

I had experience with Abbey Farm and found it a horrible school. Great Western Acadamy or Braden Forest would be my choice

To be fair, in terms of excitement, it ones of the better "American sports" I'd say it goes from best to worst.

Youngest just started at Abbey Park, so it's early days.

The principle sorted out LPA was also overseeing AP, but he's just announced his retirement.

My eldest went to LPA, same trust so opinion may be valid to both.

Given they had driven their performance up we were quite disappointed with their progress tracking system. until we moaned they locked in the expected grade on his tracking form from practically day 1. While there was movement between  sets,  there seemed to be no checks and balances other than where they 'on target to expected grade'.

We dropped the ball, we didn't spot his attainment in science hadn't moved in about a year. everything was of course green in the tracking - so he was happy and the school the same.

That said, while nova are on the up, local and have a great new building - we didn't get the a warm feeling there either. Can't quite put our finger on why.

so we didn't have a preference, and my youngest choose AP.

the reality imo is secondary schools in Swindon are mediocre. If a pupil has the aptitude and attitude they will learn anywhere, but you need to travel for a good school.

No meltdown from me. Although it is about 26c. Not bad for a mid October evening sat outside.
