There are quite a few case studies around Choirs having high transmission rates - to do with the level of activity combined with the time duration.  Shouting and singing over prolonged periods seems to increase the chances of passing it on.  I presume that might be behind it.

Why?
A major cause of transmission of the virus is in droplets expelled from the mouth when we breathe or speak. When you're engaged in physical activity you breathe harder so you expel more droplets and the "plume" goes further. Same with singing/shouting - the increase in volume also causes an increase in size and velocity (hence distance travelled) of the "plume". It's why theatres are allowed to open from July 4th but can't put on live shows (singing/"projecting, darling") and why indoor gyms aren't allowed to open even with distancing (increased physical activity makes even 2m potentially unsafe).

Whether the fact that football matches are outside would be considered to mitigate that risk over here (e.g. outdoor gyms/exercise areas are being allowed to open) remains to be seen

Sorry I should perhaps have said "would be used as an excuse for". TBF everything I've heard from actual scientists (as opposed to the shysters in govt claiming to be led by the science) does say that the risk of transmission is greatly minimised outdoors

Council Planning Departments.

Got an application in for the redevelopment of a site, requires demolition of the building on the site supported by 2 structural surveys noting that its knackered (a technical term) and if we were to reuse it, it would basically need to be taken down to ground level and rebuilt.

Response from the Council that they don't accept the argument for demolition (from an officer who is not a structural engineer) and plan to refuse the development. Chase them up for a site meeting (No because of Covid), ask them if they have inspected the building, no we haven't done a site visit because of Covid, but it looks OK on Google Earth!

Well it's hardly suprising is it? You're going about it all wrong. Rather than go through the proper planning process, what you should have done is gone to a fundraising dinner for the Conservative Party where you would have been able to speak to your MP and the relevant minister about the matter and hand over the appropriate brown envelopes.

Its darn south, a quick google suggests it has a Tory MP (albeit I have never heard of them), you might be on to something here.

Burgers that go upwards instead of outwards. Just cannot be eaten in the way that they are supposed to be. They do look good though I will give them that much.
