Petrol station question.

In America they have little switches on the 'gas' pump so that when you turn it on, you can clip it in position and it will fill the tank then cut out automatically, without the need to squeeze the handle the whole time. I've seen some similar things on pumps in the UK but they never stay in place. Am I doing it wrong or have they been disabled?
Ah, found my answer. Quite useful that Google thing.

They're disabled for safety and maybe so the consumer can't quibble about accidentally putting too much in. Could stick a pin in, or wedge the fuel cap to activate it.

Truckers been doing that for years.    Hard work holding that trigger whist waiting for 4-500 litres to dribble in.   Most have a cut off trigger anyway, once  the trigger senses the fuel pushback,  tank being full, it stops the flow to prevent spillages,  works  on most petrol pumps as well, but not too many repair the trigger hold once broken as you said.

I used carry a tennis ball for this purpose, wedge it behind the trigger - works a treat.

He replied with WALOB.

Should have been welcoming our first guest to stay in our little cottage rental today.

They are German - as are the vast majority of those booked in. Not a hope in hell of getting anyone this year.

How much you charging? Will gladly book a spot end of Summer/early Autumn...if I can get flights then.

There you go. I reckon the problem won’t be getting here, it’ll be getting let back in the UK

Thanks for that Aud! I think not being let back in the UK wouldn't be a bad thing tbh   Smiley

When you leave the house in the morning not needing as  shit, but the moment you leave the drive way you're literally touching cloth.
