They do it because then the school get a cut of the profits.
I'd happily just give the school the money directly (and a sweetener on top if they want) if they didn't make me have to use that dreadful shop. If ever a business deserved to go bust ...

I don't think that's strictly true but even if it was you can't blame them. Schools are massively underfunded
I think it's entirely true. Schools mark up virtually everything that families pay for. I work for an exam board, and know schools charge parents very different prices for exam entries than we charge them. Your second point explains why they do this.

Just about to switch the light off for some kip and a spider the size of my hand just ran out from under the bed, and shot off again. Spiders don't bother me, except when I want to sleep. Edit. It made the mistake of reappearing It's just skydived into the garden.

Looking on as a pedestrian always amusing to hear the car horns in action less than a nanosecond after traffic lights turn green in London.
Must be some wondrous places that people are in a hurry to get to in Leyton.

The place to live in 2019 London apparently. The Uber generation of earnest young professionals like Panda Paws moving in means that the area is being gentrified as we speak.

Best thing to come out of London is the M4. Second best thing is the GWR. Says the boy from Islington. I hate the place. Festering mass of humanity or cesspit delete as applicable.

Being unable to find Wobbly Bob ale. After discovering it in Weatherspoons in Weymouth a couple of weeks ago can't find any boozers that sell it. Superb pint. Anyone know who brews it ?.

Parents who, at kiddies football matches:-
1. Lose their sh*t; and/or 2. Are not afraid to shout needless 'coaching points' which often conflict with what the coaches have to say.
