My proudest moment was giving a brilliant 16 year old guide in the Gambia my Green potato print Swindon away shirt and letting him be the first to know about this new force in the Premier League, the famous Swindon Town.

Not sure how he spelt his name but he was called Bamber.

The rest is history...

I went there a few years after you.  Stayed on the coast near Serekunda.  Incredible place...although I'll bet it's very different now.

Developing the minor gripe further, I am not sure why adults over the age of, say, 40 feel the need to wear replica shirts anywhere. A nice club branded polo shirt or tie and cufflinks combination offers a more age appropriate way to show your allegiance to your chosen club.
