They were pissing about on DLR trains yesterday at Canary Wharf. Luckily I can utilise the Thames Clipper and avoid all this. However I do feel your pain, commuting in London at the best of times is a real effort without all this extra stuff going on.

Whilst I, in general, agree with the cause they are protesting for, they are making a right fucking horlicks of the thing and unnecessarily pissing a lot of people off, which sadly reinforces the idea that for many its just a personal ego thing.

As an example protesting about climate change by stopping public transport is just clueless!

It's interesting that Carney and his French equivalent, have this week been flagging up that global finance needs to wake up a bit on climate change or else there will be massive hits to profits, not too far down the line.  This is good, it's futile using a moral/ethical argument, but the threat of money loss might focus minds.

This sums up a dliemma within the Green movement, can capiltalism adjust to a different way of doing things, or is the system itself the problem, so will need to be brought down for things to change  Hmmm

The fella on the local London news who was interviewing one of them last night did question the logic behind choosing the DLR to disrupt, as this is probably one of the cleanest methods of public transport and helps avoid people using cars and buses. Her response was that the location of Canary Wharf was the actual 'target'. Seems a little ill thought out.

I do definitely agree with the stance of the protesters, but as you say, people are quickly going to lose patience with them.

I heard something on the radio, either last night or this morning I don't recall that suggests that temperatures are rising at exactly the rate first predicted years back before any 'action' was taken to slow global warming, suggesting that the minimal efforts to date are not solving anything!

Or would they be rising quicker than expected without those efforts?

A tiny little flying bug landed on my desk, so I went to flick it away and accidentally squished it. Now my hand and my office stinks of shit.

After a bit of Googling I think it might have been this:

Because it is not enough.

I get that the protests can be inconvenient, but not nearly as inconvenient as having food prices soar because fertile land becomes unusable, for example. More power to their elbow I say, being disruptive is the point. It gets attention. It NEEDS attention.

Sky can go and fuck themselves.

Before we left for Greece I informed Sky and requested their packaging so I could return their Sky Q equipment.

No packaging arrived before we left so obviously was unable to return it. I left a note for our buyers to ask them to do so when/if the packaging arrived - I realise they had no obligation to do so.

Sky are now billing me for the non return of their equipment. Good luck with that!
