Being told that my running days are almost certainly over due to patellofemoral osteoarthritis.

Gutted beyond belief.
Wow, rough. Don't know what I'd do in your shoes, but you will find a way round it/alternative. Best of luck

Road cycling should be okay as an alternative.

What a tit:

(Nothing to do with whatever anyone's views on Brexit, just completely pointless expensive gesture)

Low impact stuff. Cycling is dull and swimming even duller.

Will try steroid injections, and there is the option of surgery - but that is of dubious benefit.

Its not just the running, can't even kick a ball around with my sons. Hope the injections improve that.

All sounds very shitty. I would say give cycling a go on a road bike if you can borrow one, its a revelation compared with cycling on a mountain bike on the road (if that makes sense), ironically I gave up running as I found it painfully dull (and it buggered by knee and hips), each to their own I suppose.

Hope you get something sorted!

All 3 problems can be solved by trail running rather than road running

I don’t quite know how to word this, and it has a hint of Daily Mail about it, but why when we have dog homes full of rescue dogs do we have charities rescuing dogs from Romania and Asia and bringing them back here to be housed?

I’m a dog lover so don’t object to it and will be getting a couple of dogs (rescue - origin unknown), but I’m slightly confused by it.
