Elon Musk call British cave rescue diver a pedo  Eek

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/technology/2018/jul/15/elon-musk-british-diver-thai-cave-rescue-pedo-twitter

He also said the water was very low and still, and you could have swum to cave 5 with no gear.

I was hoping Musk would avoid scandals. 'Elongate' could be quite drawn out after all.

Got a query about gas usage. Would it be normal for the 3month period Nov-Feb to be nearly 6 times your normal usage?

Got a bill for nearly £400 for that period. Can’t be right surely

Sounds steep. Is that based on an estimate or actual reading? If previous bills were underestimated, it could be the cost of catching up.

I’ve supplied meter readings. In a 2 bed semi cottage. In that period I apparently used over 8000 kWh. The 3 months previous to that Sept to Nov I used 1522 kWh which was £70. Since moving back to the UK I’ve always lived in a similar size house and I’ve never used that much before.

I was hit with a massive electric bill like yours. When I complained the electric company said my immersion heater was stuck on? The only problem was I had a combi Boiler. Whats happened is they've moved unpaid useage onto your meter and charged you for it rather than take a hit on their profits.

The cost of fuel has risen alarmingly over the last 9 or so months.  Mainly as a consequence of May nicking Labour's pledge to cap fuel bills... the length of time for legislation to pass especially by a lame duck government, means the fuel companies are getting their rip-offs in while they can.

Have you checked the readings are correct on the bill?

Got up this morning to go for a run as usual, while getting ready, stepped on a wasp in my bare feet. Now have a little toe roughly the size of Finland and can barely walk, much less run Sad Not a great start to the day.

I used a comparison site every year. When I switched to SSE (whose bill this is) I gave them my estimated annual usage based on previous consumption and they said £31 per month direct debit.

So how can one quarter’s bill be more than their estimate for the year

Frankly is the readings on the bill are correct, that's the gas that has moved through the meter, now either you have a leak somewhere your side of the meter or some appliance is eating gas?

How the fuck are the gas company moving use onto a meter without actually having any engagement with said meter. mind waves??

If it helps with empathy, a guy here got stung by (he thinks) by a wasp that got into his cycle helmet on Sunday. Sometime around lunchtime yesterday his left temple started to swell and swell. Ended up going to the walk in center, not been seen today...

We obviously showed our sympathy in a mature and sympathetic manor. "John Merrick" ..."freak show"...

A bee/wasp flew into my cycling helmet and got stuck when I  was doing 30mph+ on Saturday afternoon, happy to acknowledge that I basically shat my pants until I stopped and extracted the little bastard!  Angry
