Batch - I've just been suffering from Patella Femoral syndrome which was caused by over use whilst cycling (with new shoes).  That hurt all the time too and felt like it was under the knee cap and to the inside of the knee.

I rested it for a month but it really didn't go but two sessions of deep tissue massage on the thigh muscles has worked wonders and it's now 99% better.

Not sure if this helps in anyway but if it does then great.

I gave up on running as it was buggering my knees.

Similarly I had some knee trouble last year after using the turbo trainer too much! The doctors just diagnoses 'unspecified knee pain' and said come back in 8 weeks if it no better, after some looking online I started stretching my thigh muscles every time after exercise and it made it much better...

BTW that's not me!

Clearly exercise is just bad for you, the body knows what's best and it rarely complains after a few hours of slouching on a sofa with beer and wine being consumed, or so I have found.  I got tendinitis in my left foot which lasted about 3 months after playing Futsal for a couple of years.  It still occurs from time to time, usually when I walk too much.  It was so painful some old lady with a Zimmer beat me in a race to the surgery door at Eldene's old Doctor's building.

Doing this one, but only one leg at a time works the outer thigh muscles whereas Horlock's works the main quad.

It does take me about 5 mins to get into position and about 30 to get up again  Grin

They really do help.

It was mainly sore knees, and other bits, that made me give up running. It was always just a means to an end for me anyway, so no great loss. I'm looking to get my cardio fix from elsewhere

Half the people who have a go at "fatty" Evans seem to be overweight themselves

If it helps, I usually shout abuse at him for being a fucking cheat, a tax fraud and a disgrace to the game who should have been banned for life. The odd reference to pies may also creep in occasionally, I'll admit

Had Osborne got his way a few years back, then pies and Cornish pasties would have had 20% VAT lumped on them.

Fortunately he was forced into a U turn, when it was explained to him that it made the Nasty Party look very nasty in taxing the staple food of the working classes.

"Mr Nasty threatens tax on Pasty,
but blew it and u-turns on suet."

That's the headline I remember at the time*

You can be a fat bastard and still call somebody else a fat bastard. You may call hypocrisy, but I'm not denying my blubberage.

Plus it's catchy.
