A friend of mine has been critical of the report, as his parents ran a pub near Hillsborough and there were people leaving the pub on that day at KO. How that changes the verdict was the bit I didn't understand. Whatever they did, the right provisions obviously weren't in place to make sure they were safe. That it could have happened anywhere, at anytime, doesn't make it any more palatable.

Agreed - the behavior of having a few and turning up late has hardly gone away in the intervening years.  It was pretty clear that a "political" bias allowed for an environment where bad decisions could be made about "peoples" well being and then efforts made to present a specific version of events thereafter.  Football and the authorities in general have a pretty poor record of being pro-active about H&S, generally only reacting after major incidents

My daughter just gave me a Werthers Original. I think she might be trying to tell me something.

Been feeling really low lately so thought I'd cheer myself up by buying some shoes. They're too small, even though the 9 gazillion other pairs I've worn in my life (at the exact same size) are fine.

Ells has a point I've noticed this recently. I went from an 8 to a 9 in Loakes, fitted great. Bought a new pair, same style, size 9. They are like a pair  of clown shoes on me, tried a different 8, like the ugly sisters slippers!. They aint cheap at £160 a pair, but I'm now wondering if they like everything else have been shipped abroad and made in a shitty old warehouse where people randomly mark the sizes?

Unless they're the 1880 range (£210+), they're made in India I think. Definitely abroad anyway.

I've only ever bought 2 pairs of walking boots in my life, but previous to the purchase was advised that your feet swell in the afternoon, so don't rely on a fitting in the morning, as they''ll be too small. My first pair lasted about 25 years, the current pair have had a trip to the snob, and are held together by glue, but fit like a glove.

Perhaps you went shopping in the morning  Hmmm

Another bloody price hike from BT. Line rental is damn near £20 a month now, how on earth can it possibly cost that much to provide a line?
