The Walk....Correct me if im wrong but someone has made a feature length film based on someone walking across a high wire?
To be fair, it was between the Twin Towers, illegally, without any form of safety equipment. Took a lot of planning Not sure if this film is much cop, but I found the documentary Man On Wire absolutely brilliant and I don't normally do documentaries. Philippe Petit, said man on wire, is very engaging in it.
8 trips/45 minutes..

Exciting times as a kid seeing this wheeled in to class. I remember one history lesson where we watched Blackadder for an hour, brilliant. I still have a VCR in my cupboard, only nowadays its in with the artefacts rather than equipment...

The terrible French accent of the main chap in the trailer annoyed me enough to put me off watching it.

There was a lot of preparation, staking out the building site, getting a team together, etc. Think the whole prep lasted a year or two. Bit like like the great train robbery wasn't just the robbery bit I suppose. No idea if its any good, too dragged out, etc. But if they can make a film about a bloke trapped down a hole for 127 hours this should be a piece of piss.

Randomly, I have the Dr. Snuggles theme tune going round my head. I hope that some of you do too now I mentioned it so I don't suffer alone.

I've had 'You're just too good to be true' going round my head this morning. I actually burst into song in the lift!
There's a football song in that tune somewhere

People using the phrase "smashed it" as in achieving a good result. Why?

I'd always assumed it was as in 'smashed it out the park' baseball/cricket analogy.
Not the other smashed it..

Having to drive overnight for 6 hours from Glasgow to.......Poxford.
And worse then spend a day in Poxford on about 4 hours sleep.
I suffer for my art.

The phrase "e-meet" as in "nice to e-meet you". Fuck off.

I, like most of us here on the TEF, hate bad grammar/spelling.
I've just read an email from a senior manager which has to be the worst I've read in terms of grammar. I mean, I can understand it from one of us minions/pondlife, but from senior managers?!

In my experience, all of the senior managers I have worked under, have awful grammar and spelling so I concur.
