Today my son threw a massive tantrum because he was not allowed to play with his sister's tongue.

Oh, the joys of fatherhood.

We're just a few weeks away from the middle of this decade, and no-one has yet been able to come up with a decent name for it.  Or the last one, for that matter.  The English language can't deal with it.  It's ridiculous.

70s
80s
90s
Blank
Blank
20s
30s

etc. etc.

And don't anyone suggest the Noughties and the Teenies, because no-one uses those terms like people use the Eighties, Nineties etc.

I've fucked up - big time.

It's Mrs Audrey's Xmas 'do' tonight - straight from work thingy.

I now remember I had promised to pick her up but have just sunk a rather nice bottle of Rioja

I think they were too busy killing each other to worry about it...

It was one of the main causes of the first world war. The Kaiser was planning of calling it the teenies, after banging on about der noughties for years. In the end the rest of the world could take no more.

Thankfully even Putin's not that stupid to go down that route.

They kind of got around it (retrospectively).  The 1900-1909 coincided closely with 'the Edwardian era' and the following decade was basically WW1 and the before & after.  And the whole lot was lumped together as 'the early 20th century'.

But they didn't have compilation albums to sell in those days, or retrospectives on Channel 4 hosted by Jimmy Car to remind you of your favourite toys/band/fad of the 19[?]0s.  So it's a more accute problem these days.

The standard of driving  Doh

Just done a four mile trip, had a dick in an orange van cut into 50% of the left lane at a roundabout to turn right. I was in the left lane. About five minutes later some tool drives around a parked car and into my path, I was totally visible. Twats.
