We have just come back from a week in the Shire, the drive down on the 26th was a total bitch and took about 7 sodding hours (which off the back of a 14 hours day out with work the previous day when the trains fucked up) made for a very unhappy Horlock07!

Look at the stats, the UK is not 'that' densely populated compared to other places, we just don't seem to do transport very well.

Its based on Local Authority area I assume...

I would say infrastructure is a major factor as the roads can't cope with the volume of vehicles using them.

Talking of Northampton, and as a resident of Northamptonshire, the cobblers are my local team. But I've noticed that it's really not a football town...I'm sure cobblers fans might argue differently but they would be wrong! Smiley

Most Northants people I know always tended to be massively into 'tug of war'. Big business in those parts. I'm sure you might have noticed at your local Summer Church Fete in Dav from time to time Wink

I don't attend Church fetes!

And so far I have resisted the urge to join the Morris Dancing Club or the Bell Ringing Society!

The design of wheelbarrows!

I am c. 6'4" and had to barrow a load of pretty soggy concrete today, but if the barrow is more that just over half full it all comes out of the front of the barrow when I pick it up then, especially when going down hill!

Word got around that you'd come back to England and so they're all in cahoots to piss you off.

What's with people (generally people in Range Rovers or BMW X5s) parking half of their cars on the pavement these days? When heading into town earlier on a road which is more than wide enough for that practice NOT to be required. Some absolute weapon had left their X5 parked on the corner forcing pedestrians into the road to avoid it. There are a lot of people on mobility scooters locally and whilst it's not necessarily a busy road, they would have been inconvenienced by it.

I suppose these bloody monstrosities that people insist on spending their hard earned on are too big for our roads these days.

Your average WankPanzer driver is more concerned about obstructing fellow petrol heads than risking the lives of insignificant pedestrians.

I wish I had the balls to treat a pavement parked vehicle as part of the pavement and walk accross the bonnet and roof.
