So peacefully enter a football pitch and handcuff yourself to a goal post to protest about climate change https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/just-stop-oil-protester-nufc-25150914 That'll be 6 weeks inside matey..

Drive your van deliberately into a cyclist knocking him off his bike, then exit van and punch him rendering him unconscious and drive off and leave him (with a previous caution on record for an altercation with a cyclist), nah mate that's just a suspended sentence https://twitter.com/BBCBristol/status/1577295341736660993
TBF matey who tied himself to the post was locked up for non stop breaking the law, this was the last of a list of convictions

I know at least one person here will disagree...

Stadium gig tickets - when did they start costing £100+ a seat (prefer standing but have short wife).  Hmm. Can't quite justify it from my end with the Mrs " ending in a 0" birthday coming up. Bugger. Plus, give me an arena any day.

I just can't get my head round the idea of a stadium gig.

Could go in either thread really. My Time Machine backup drive died a few days ago, but I was surprised to learn it has lasted since 2016 with almost hourly backups for a huge proportion of that time. It's annoying, but timely as I'm looking to do my first truly-fresh install of my OS (since 2011*).

Fuckwits. Do they really think this will bring support?
Same question as always, how do they power their house? I trust they travel everywhere on foot? Never been abroad?

I really don't think it's a holier than thou "we as individuals are better as you as individuals" thing. It's a protest aimed at governments not doing more than the very minimum to prevent what they see as the single most critical threat the human race faces? They just do the stunts because it gets far more media coverage than say, writing a polite letter your MP outlining the evidence as they see it.

I don't really think they care if you drive to work or get the bus. They care about essentially every world government continuing to act as if fossil fuels can be used in perpetuity with only vague commitments to net zero.

I can sort of understand the publicity angle on this one, albeit I suspect it may avtually bite them on the arse a little.

I must confess to having a sad smile when people moan about the disruption similar protests cause and the cost implications when they glue themselves down, its a fucking drop in the ocean (no pun intended) compared with the cost and disruption if governments continue to fuck all about it and large parts of the country disappear under water.

what should they do to drum up support or interest ? I think that getting really worried about how each protester keeps their house warm or heats up their meals could be missing the point

When these twats glue themselves to things, fucking leave them there to piss & shit themselves, then leave them a bit longer to die of thirst or starve to death. Cunts won’t do it again in a hurry.
