How odd. Never seen a paywall on the Adver, which is why I checked when PP said there was one. And now I've clicked back on the link, I only see the first para with the rest of it hidden behind a "available to subscribers" message so yes it does seem it is. Although I suspect this is a "read x articles for free per month then we paywall it" thing rather than that the Adver have designated this article in particular as "premium". |

Bizarrely when I followed the link it wasn't behind a pay wall initially then switched quickly, could it be be because I have an ad blocker running? First time I have had an Advertiser article pop up as paywalled?
As for criticising the Advertiser for basing stories on internet links, considering that most media seems to now be harvested off social media or be based on printing press releases, not sure the Advertiser is much worse than any other outlet.

If anything, I'd have said credit the journo for being open in citing his sources rather than pretending it was based on inside knowledge. TBF I don't think that was the main target of PP's ire so much as the paywall |

It's not a story. And it's not news.
The facts are that 2/3 of the squad are out of contract. We've known this for months. To spin this into an article and put a PREMIUM label on it (top left corner of the image), and then chuck it behind a paywall, is laughable.
I'm 100% for paid-for content, but that is dreadful.

People who casually smoke weed out in the open. It's still illegal isn't it? Do the police do anything if they catch anyone? I couldn't care less if these people want to frazzle their brains, it annoys me because it stinks and I feel they're infringing.
