The IP address the forum logs will be that of the VPN, not the one issued by your ISP. That's kind of the whole point of a VPN.

No your VPN doesn't hide the IP address as such, you have to have an IP of sorts, it generates you an IP that is not "YOUR" IP, you chose which country you wish to pretend to be from and it allocates you a set of ip addresses relating to that country. It doesn't remove your IP totally. |

My interpretation is that she had been invited in to try and sort out issues within the Council (as illustrated by the chairman (who had apparently refused to hold meetings for a while) claiming to be the Clerk, the vice chair appearing to have serious anger management issues), a quick look at the PC's website suggests there are serious issues and I assume she was supposed to be acting as some sort of independent party to try and get people talking (and doing what a PC is supposed to do rather than shouting at each other!) FWIW local democracy from my experience is usually full of cliques and little fiefdoms where members hate to lose the perceived power they hold, such meetings are often a case study in passive agression. |

Quite. I just wondered what my IP address that pops up actually relates to. Still couldn’t listen to the BBC TofT Power interview, though even when my VPN was connected to the UK. |
