Bastard biting insects. They seem to love me, got three lumpy bites after going for a short walk on Sunday morning. I had about 30 mosquito bites in Italy last summer too. What attracts them to certain people?
I'm the same, every time I go out in grass in the summer I seem to have an invisible sign hanging off my legs saying "Insect buffet, fill your boots". |

My dog is on medication for life. They are now wanting to see her every 3 to 6 months. Each time it costs £35. Then £15 written prescription, and then I buy the drugs online.
All this takes 10 minutes maximum.

Do you have insurance? Some will cover this. Agree vet's charges are ridiculous. My dog has had numerous tests, dental work,etc over the last couple of months. I'm yet to get the bill which will be sky high I'm sure. Found out Thursday he's got cancer and they can't do anything for him apart from pain relief. Now just a waiting game. |

I have a mate whos dog is in the same boat, just pain relief with no hope of cure, enjoy your time with them, its fucking heartbreaking when the inevitable happens but just keep them comfy and happy, its all you can do. My mates dog has been going on (not so strong) for almost a year now though but its awful knowing its a waiting game. |

It's shit when pets get ill.
We lost one cat earlier this year year and the other is diabetic, has hyperthyroid, is slightly incontinent and it's just a matter of time before she goes too.
She's covered under insurance, do you have pet insurance?

Thanks all. Difficult time for us but my old boy has had a great life and we'll do what's right by him. At the moment he's ok. Can't go for a walk without getting out of breath but wants his food and isn't suffering. Apparently we'll know when it's his time(vet's words).
He is insured but as pets get older they still hit you with fees etc. The dental work may not be covered also which is a few hundred quid. Ironically the cancer is in his jaw and vet said they'll try to get it from insurer but no guarantees. I'm not bothered about that too much. It is what it is.
