Any of you culinary experts got a tip on peeling tomatoes?
I’ve just done 4 large ones which made a helluva mess and took ages - apart from slicing a digit or 2.
I’m doing a Spanish Tombet which is a sort of ratatouille, veggie thing.
A quick google suggests marking the tomatoes with a cross, then putting into one boiling water for 1 minute, and then plunge into ice cold water and you can then peel the skin off seemingly. |

Yeah, probably should have googled first.
Not aimed at you but there is a 'friend' on facebook who literally questions everything on her Facebook page that could be solved by a 10-60 seconds google search. I've never really understood that kind of behaviour, but each to their own I guess. |

If, if you are going to the trouble of blanching toms to peel, cut a small cross on the bottom. Makes hurt the toms are ripe and hard not ripe and soft. Pour boiling water over them in a bowl and leave for a minute or two and the skin starts to pear back. Lift out when this happens and Perl. If you leave then in to long they start to cook and you get a mush as you peel them. Failing that, tinned is the answer. |

Witnessed a street fight earlier with around 10 people involved after hearing a lot of shouting out the front of the house. Nothing serious ended up happening but lots of people coming into contact either taking a swing or putting themselves in between to break it up.
Clearly a couple of house parties/gatherings going on either side of the road, evidently with lots of alcohol and probably cocaine. I'm annoyed I wasn't invited.
In all seriousness the fighting aside, why are people simply not getting this lockdown? It baffles me.
