Another reason why rural roads have dropped from 60 to 50 is road safely
They haven't dropped? Round here they are taking things a step further and don't seem to be repainting the white lines down the middle when they resurface them, which so far seems to have had the sole effect that everyone just drives at the speed they did before but down the middle of the road! Cats-eyes seem to be getting rather rare on Cumbrian roads as well.

I liked the irony of Patel announcing a crackdown on violent criminals as the treasurer of the 1922 committee of backbench Tory MPs was being ejected from the conference by armed police after a violent confrontation with a security guard when he'd tried to insist on bringing someone without the appropriate pass into a restricted area. Apparently crackdowns on violent criminals don't apply if you can shout "Don't you know who I am?" with a real sense of entitlement.

People who can't position the arse correctly, when taking a dump in pub toilets, to avoid shitting on the seat.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? Crap!

On a related subject, I only stand up to piss when in the pub’s bogs. I’m a confirmed sit downer.

I once had the misfortune of suffering from the shits while attending a mates Wedding Reception in a "local" in Ealing. It had a single cubicle shared among all comers, had a pull chain, pebble dashed walls (I'll leave the reader to decide if this was a design choice or years of accumulation). There was on old set of pants dangled by the pipes, the door lock wouldn't hold (the door was straight into the bar area, no corridor or any such luck) so an extended foot was required and essentially had the level of cleanliness seen in the original Trainspotting film where Renton goes swimming in the toilet.

The burning and somewhat pointless question is though, after all the beautiful horror of it, was there anything other than the underpants that resembled toilet paper?
