Neighbours garden has just gone up in flames. Dry grass and pre-tip rubbish, and whoomph. Their garden and the one next to them completely wiped out, guttering gone and windows warped.
Luckily two neighbours managed to douse it with garden hoses and outside tap - the firemen said another five minutes and it would have spread inside the house.
All seemingly so innocuous - makes you think

Thai immigration, the fuckwits.
Foreigners now have to report where they are staying within 24 hours. This means filling in a form and taking it all the way to immigration HQ (when in Bangkok) and queuing to get it done. This is a process that takes the best part of a day. So, basically, if I wanted a weekend away, it would mean not being able to work on the Monday.
This has been pointed out to immigration officials, to which came the reply that we should just travel less often. Something that I am sure the tourist board will be delighted to hear, the tourism sector is already struggling as it is.

Schools only allowing uniform from one shop and that one shop having the worst customer service, bar none, of any shop in Swindon and indeed, I'd venture, the whole of Wiltshire. Just spent 20 minutes waiting not to buy a PE shirt, but for them to see if they have one. After 20 minutes, they still couldn't tell me but were "hoping he'll be back soon" (the kid they'd sent into the stock room that is presumably located somewhere in the bowels of hell so long does it take for anyone to emerge from it) and suggested I might like to come back later. Bearing in mind, this is just to see if they've got the fucking thing, not even buy it. And they are second only to the club shop in terms of outrageous markup on what is a shit polyester t-shirt made for pence in some Southeast Asian sweatshop. The last of the closed shop monopolies.

Back in the day the only official thing we had to get for the school uniform was the tie, and rugby shirt. The rest could be bought from anywhere as long is it met certain criteria. It's very monopolized and expensive these days. That is wrong imo.
