Where do they get their batteries from ??

A man with a Geordie accent, several buckets of fried chicken and a boot load of Duracell AAs is being sought.

Drone still flying after 16 hrs.  Incredible...and rather worrying.

I know absolutely feck all about the subject, but it does suggest in certain reporting its a commercial one!

Could they not just shoot it down with an elephant gun if they are worried of missing a small object?

I think there is more to this that we first thought and it is more than just a prank.

But if there was a high level nefarious background to this why would you not just target Heathrow as that would have 100x the disruptive effect?

In just my 2nd day of working in my new home/office, I have managed to spill Bovril down a wall.

It's beginning to feel like home already.

Authorities giving hourly updates, progressively pushing back the time when the airport is going to reopen.  Given that the drone is still operating, and that no-one really knows how - would it not be more honest simply to say that the airport will re-open when the drone operator is caught?

I'm surprised they haven't traced it back to origin by now, I know 10-15 mins flying radius is a large search area, but surely following it visually is possible.

presumably infrequent and mobile in launch site.

I find it hard to believe there is no technology available that can map/locate a drone and it’s transmittor

There’s definitely more to this (sinister or no) than ‘enthusiast disrupts airport’

The fact that the media has cameras all over the place filming and we have not apparently seen a picture of the bloody thing yet is peculiar, likewise they seem to be allowing the BBC to fly a helicopter in the vicinity??

Probably one of the government contingency plans for no deal Brexit, when we're told one of the consequences will be some flights being grounded.  Varadkar particularly pointed out, the loss of a right to Irish airspace for flights to the US.

Failing to quote the rest of my explanation, trying to make me look even more of a cunt than I am!

Incidents in most things, involving a natural element, generally comes from ill advice or preparation. You could just read my response which states his.

It's not constantly up ,AFAIK there were 2 sightings last night and the last sighting was before midday today.

MOD called in, presumably to track the things, but surely they will have got the hell out of dodge by now.
