Witnessed a woman yesterday tapping out a text message on her phone while driving in the outside lane of the M6. Traffic was busy as well. I'd normally move on & forget, but this wound me up sufficiently that I put a call through to Staffordshire Police this morning to provide details. They were polite enough, but explained that all they could do was log the complaint and cross reference if there is a future offence committed by the same driver. Hope they never have cause to do this.
Same thing today on the A419. Woman wandering out of lane in a fucking huge pick up truck type vehicle. Overtook and she was tapping away on her phone. I honked her and gave her the finger. |

Banging on about 'journalistic standards' from the club while praising the adver. The fucking adver. They'd misspell their own fucking name if it wasn't on a template. So blatantly biased. Moaning about the club is one thing, but in favour of that fucking rag?

The Adver these days is nothing more than a combination of three things:
a) Court summaries
b) Facebook & Twitter feeds to fill the rest of the "news"
c) A transcript of the Radio Swindon interviews, broken down into "articles" spread over a few days
That's not journalism, that's Google.

Think it's rather missing the point to bemoan journalistic standards at the Adver while we all get our news online. Staff on regional papers has halved in less than a decade. It's a bit sad, but we're all complicit in it, so to spit on the poor jobbing interns earning themselves a few last coppers strikes me as a bit mean-spirited.

I think Quagmire's point in essence was...He's a decent journalist and seemed to be professional in how he went about his work. The recent tweet was more to be an expectation from an early days, younger Morshead. He knows the game long enough now and this just comes across as petulant. Not professional. Time and a place Sam. One of the biggest social media outlets and open forum is not the place to leave yourself open. Unless of course he's fairly narcissistic, in which case he'll be doing this to get a name as being 'controversial'.
Sorry Sam, do one. In a journalistic sense, you have no ties to STFC anymore. This just makes you look bitter. You have a decent job at The Cricketer. Focus on that.

I care because there’s only really 2 common chains. Costa and Starbucks. Starbucks sell utterly fucking vile coffee, so I can only imagine that Costa will now buy cheaper beans and sell the same dishwater as Starbucks to appease share holders.
On the flip side, meh. Buy independent, Cafe Nero or save some money.
