I like a drink but a pint of vat . . at lunchtime.

Think Audrey was hoping for the 69 later...

Way-ay! Proper pub banter that was.

A good read. Only a total dickhead jumps in when asked, "Who's next?", and I hope you all defend the correct order verbally with any cunt that tries otherwise.

I'd also add to the pub tips that they should be avoided during big sporting fixtures (e.g. the World Cup) because they will be full of tossers who don't usually go to the pub and therefore don't know the rules.

Barcelona.  Shithole full of thieving cunts.

I recommend Zaragoza. Much more chilled and still incredibly pretty.

I enjoyed Valencia. Mix of old and new and a massive beach if you enjoy that kind of thing.

So on Friday I  arranged to pick up a cricket team mate at 12 at Melksham Asda the next day, and confirmed this sat morning. I left home around 11.30. As I'm driving my phone receives a message, then a call, then another message. All from said team mate, informing me he is waiting at the Asda. I arrive at 12 and pick him up.
Why did he need to call and text? What is wrong with people? Are they so flaky that they think if they don't hear something its all off? How did we ever manage before mobile phones?

I’m popping into Granada - no, not the old TV rental place - to go see the Alhambra palace in September.

I like Spain. I like Portugal, too. Lisbon and Porto are 2 very safe big cities.

I had a daft idea a couple of weeks ago when I noticed a German football team called Schweinfurt. Thought it could be the Fatherland’s version of Swindon - schwein = pig, maybe furt = hill.

Found the place on Google and it looks lovely. So nothing like Swindon at all!

Had a passing thought to visit.

Go to  Swindon's twin town Salzgitter... they recently banned any more immigrants.  Which would also be nothing like Swindon.

A worrying trend is a linear queue forming for service in some pubs, when there is a nice long bar to lean against and wait to be served.

The worrying trend is a combination of clueless bar staff and people with no bar etiquette, I remember when I was a student in Newcastle our local (which was next door to St James Park) had staff who could essentially serve about 5 people at once, plus have a pretty good idea of who was next etc! Nowadays staff seem unable to serve more than one person and then ask who's next at which point some twat generally tries to jump the queue.

And don't get me started on groups of people each buying their own drinks and paying with cards!

Why oh why do they put down loose chippings on the road and leave it for a few days? Most of the stones end up in the verge and my car gets pinged with loads of stones. Never understood it. My car has several stone chips now  Bad Mood

£95 for a day train return to London for the family on a weekend. Stuff that. Cheaper to drive.

Stuff the environment.
