Indeed it was, although you can still apply for a bursary if you're at college/studying. Of course these are more restrictive but it's not totally impossible.

I know I'm outside of their target demographic, but I always enjoyed listening to Greg James on Radio 1 while at work. He's now going onto the breakfast show, swapping with the really, really annoying guy that does that show currently. Works van doesn't have DAB, so no chance of listening to 6 music either. Shite. How does Steve Right still have a job? He's a cunt as well. Grrrrrrrrr.

Steve Wright used to be very good, his Ask Elvis was the highlight of my listening week.....but now he us so self centred and with a massive ego, he should not still be employed, pretty much the same for Chris Evans.

Ken Bruce though is now my presenter of choice.

See I don't mind Chris Evans in the morning on my commute to work, but Steve Wright does my nut in.

In fact, I've taken to listening to Planet Rock through my phone on the way home from work now

Hastings Direct. Got my car insurance renewal info in the post today and my car insurance price had been increased by 120 quid. Went onto a comparison website and got a quote, with enhanced cover, that was £110 cheaper than last year, £230 cheaper than my Hastings Direct quote for this year. The name of the insurers on the comparison site? Hastings Direct! Gave them a quick(ish) call and they've matched the online quote.
How can an insurer quote one price on a comparison site and literally double it on a renewal for an existing policy?

Cos they’re all a bunch of cnuts. Surely keeping existing customers happy with a best price quote is better than whoring yourself every time one comes up for renewal.

All insurers are the same. That's not just for car's. Some people are too lazy to shop around.

I change every year, if the quote is cheaper.

The reason is that a lot of the companies discount the policy in year 1, to the extent they actually lose money. They do this on the basis that a good percentage of people renew and they will make money in the following years.

They did this with my mrs. Online was nearly 500 quid cheaper, same insurer, same details

Admiral are a fu**er for this too.
New custom is largely valued more than retention. True of pretty much everything I'm afraid.

Direct Line price matched themselves for me several times without quibble (new customer quote v renewal like yours).
