Thailand's in range, and the Yanks have a few bases out here.
I'll let you know if I see any missiles going over.

OK, phew, thanks.
actually, I think the KN-08 (akak Hwasong-13) carries nuclear payload, but I'm not sure that's what they were testing (yet). I'll sleep easier...

To be fair, I think if North Korea did show any real aggression to the United States it would verge on suicide. They are way outmatched.

The problem is, though, that they have a fuck-ton of artillery with Seoul in range. Sure, the Yanks could wipe them out but not before Seoul is removed from the map.

Gavrilo Princep, was way outmatched by the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but his assassination of a Scottish rock band caused WW1.

I think the Yanks would pulverise them before they got a chance. They are literally waiting for the opportunity to flex their muscles - they have been for years.

Their artillery are dug in in the mountains though, and they'd have to take it all out at once before the Norkies can retaliate. Plus the missiles. It'd take an enormous coordinated attack to take everything out simultaneously and if they miss something, Seoul is in a spot of bother. They struggled (and still are struggling) to shift the Taliban from dug in mountain positions, there's nothing to suggest that the Norkie positions will be any easier. To be sure they're all taken down could take nukes and they'd be reluctant to do that.

The history of the Korean War is fascinating.... sometimes called the "forgotten war". It was rather overshadowed by Vietnam and it's true to say it hasn't quite ended. In the early 50's MacArthur the commander-in-chief in Korea, wanted 30 odd nukes to be dropped on Korea and China... at the time there was some debate about who controlled the arsenal, the President or C-in-C. Truman prevailed and MacArthur was replaced. Part of the reason for the non use of nukes was that the Korean War was nominally a UN effort. Our boys were there, who can forget the Glorious Glosters at Imjin River, but gave Vietnam a miss. Hopefully we'll do the same this time, although I suspect May needs a war.

Some jobs are coming up at my place of work at the moment. One of the requirements is to type at 55wpm - words and numbers. The role is quite basic, basically an online support for purchasing online rather than through a main dealer. I just don't know many people that would be able to get near 55wpm! They've offered this link to test - http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed_alpha_numeric.phpWhat's the best you can get? I'm getting 40-45.
