I don't understand a 9 year contract

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jul/01/saul-niguez-nine-year-contract-atletico-madrid

Just give him 5 years maybe, in case he breaks a leg or something? The wage will probably need renegotiating by then too. I guess it's a statement rather than a practicality. Wasn't Pardew given 6 years at Newcastle recently too? Bet he was looking forward to the payoff.
I think that a large part of any future transfer fee is often based upon the length left of the players current contract....so longer contract=larger transfer fee when sold.

Just killed a thunderfly on my laptop screen. Trouble is, I didn't realise that he was actually inside the screen so now I have a small black smudge right in the middle that is stuck there.

Buzz words and phrases. Hearing the phrase 'let's take this offline' in a meeting really grinds the gears.

Seconded.

Although I'm not gonna lie, I've had to use it quite a lot as an alternative to "shut the fuck up" recently.

That's one I have never heard before in the office actually (although I am aware of the phrase).

Me and some mates were talking about this recently and a mate, who works in some cunty place in London, won the debate when he said his boss asked him to "step into my idea shower."

I hope I never have to step into an idea shower and touch base.
